Fear Not – Senior Pastor Sue Owen
I’m so grateful that God’s word repeatedly declares “Fear not”.
Some say it’s written in the Bible 365 times – therefore we are given a daily reminder! It means don’t be frightened, don’t dread the strength, strategy or success of your enemy because God will deal with that and empower you to stand strong. (2 Corinthians 10:4).
It’s a spiritual battle we’re in but most folk are oblivious and think that people are their enemies. The truth is He’s dealt with the devil already but it’s likely you are still tackling his tactics on a daily basis. (Revelation 12:10)
God is all powerful and He has promised you victory. (Isaiah 54:17) He was with you in the past, He’s promised to never leave you. (Joshua 1:9) So He is here today and He has gone before and He will therefore – cover your future. (Revelation 21:6)
God’s faithfulness reaches to the skies so it surely can touch your life. (Psalm 36:5) He is all powerful and there is nothing impossible with Him. (Luke 1:37) You may need hope, deliverance, healing or provision. Our God is faithful and He knows all about your need. (Matthew 6:8)
In truth your biggest enemies are:pride, (Proverbs 29:23) fear, (Proverbs 29:25) and offence. (Matthew 5:24) Don’t let them win. Pull them down if they’re trying to dominate your thinking. Repent of them if they’re ruining your faith. Confess them if they’re robbing you of an essential relationship. (1 John 1:9) Admit your fault to your brother so that restoration can begin. (James 5:16) Let God lift you up and take you forward. Declare out-loud that you’re back!! Back from doubt, back from fear and back from offence. God is love and only love – all fear is of the devil, call it out for what it is! (1 John 4:18)
Invite God’s eye to settle on you so He can show Himself strong on your behalf. (2 Chronicles 16:9) Open your heart to allow His love to come in. (Revelation 3:20) Become a new person, begin a new journey. (2 Corinthians 5:17) Give Him first place in your life and reap the blessing! (Proverbs 3:9-10) Be intentional as you put your faith in God. (Mark 11:24) Don’t fear be strong, be courageous. (Joshua 1:6)
